My name is Jorge Terán, and I’m from Venezuela, South America. My passion for music began when I was 10 years old. My journey started in 1995 at the Education Department-Vocational School in Trujillo, where I studied popular guitar. Three years later, I pursued formal musical education at the Conservatorium Laudelino Mejías in Trujillo, Venezuela, where I specialised in French Horn and earned a Certificate III in Musical Theory.
During my time at the Conservatorium, I also had the opportunity to work as an instructor, teaching Beginning Musical Language. I was an active member of the Infantil Orchestra at Laudelino Mejías for three years, which helped me deepen my appreciation for both academic and popular music. Under the guidance of exceptional mentors, I developed a profound understanding of the discipline, dedication, and artistry required to excel in music.
In 2010, I moved to Brisbane, Australia, seeking new opportunities to immerse myself in a different cultural background and to learn English. I pursued a Diploma of Music (Contemporary Performance on Acoustic Guitar) at JMC Academy Creative Industries, as well as a Diploma of Audio Production and a Bachelor of Film (Production) at SAE University College in Brisbane. During my studies, I performed as a guitarist at small venues, including the Church Fortitude Valley, TAFE Southbank, with "All Stars" student group.
Today, I remain active as a musician, playing both guitar and French Horn. My style is heavily influenced by Latin Music, Classical, Rock, Blues, Country, Jazz, and Pop, and I enjoy blending these genres into my performances. My main focus now is teaching guitar to beginners—both kids and adults—to help them develop their skills as musicians. I truly believe that music is not about becoming a professional but about becoming a better human being.
Music has been a lifelong journey for me, and it reflects my deep passion for cultural exploration, artistic expression, and personal growth.
